Eight ways builders tend to work.

Test one idea before opening five new paths.

Shipper

Making things real

Pair your building speed with a customer check.

Architect

Thinking in systems

Time-box planning and test the riskiest piece.

Hustler

Review which activity is producing useful results.

Polymath

Connecting different skills

Choose one audience where your combination helps.

Craftsman

Caring about the details

Define what is good enough for an early test.

Operator

Making work repeatable

Validate the offer before optimizing the process.

Maverick

Questioning the usual way

Invite outside feedback on your key assumption.

PUT IT TO WORK

Three ways to use what you learn.

01
Notice your energy
Which kinds of tasks pull you in? Which ones do you avoid? Start with observation instead of judgment.
02
Design your support
Try shorter work blocks, a deadline, a partner, or a clearer definition of done. Keep what helps.
03
Keep learning about yourself
Your stage, responsibilities, and preferences can change. Use the result as a starting point you can revisit.

MORE THAN AN ARCHETYPE

Builder DNA explores fifteen dimensions of how you think, decide, create, and execute. The eight archetypes are a starting language for discussing those patterns.

You might recognize yourself in several descriptions. You might also work differently when you are learning, under pressure, or balancing responsibilities. Leave room for that complexity.

SAME TASK, DIFFERENT APPROACHES

The same next move, read four ways.

If you keep adding ideas
Write the next idea down without switching projects. Choose one audience and one outcome for this test. Set a review date so focus does not feel permanent.
If you keep polishing
Define the minimum needed for someone to understand and assess the offer. Decide which details can wait until you have feedback.
If you move before checking
Before building more, ask a likely customer to describe the problem in their own words. Compare that with the assumption driving your work.
If consistency is the hard part
Make a repeatable return routine: open your last checkpoint, choose one action, and leave a note about what comes next.

QUESTIONS

A few questions first.

Is Builder DNA a diagnosis or a prediction of success?

No. Use it as a reflective framework for discussing working preferences and support. It does not diagnose a condition or determine whether a business will succeed.

Can my patterns change?

Yes. Your skills, circumstances, stage of work, and responsibilities can change. Revisit the ideas that help you rather than treating an archetype as a permanent identity.

What if I relate to more than one archetype?

That is a useful observation. The descriptions are a way into a conversation about how you work, not a requirement to fit neatly into one box.

Where do I get my actual result?

The assessment button opens the official Waymaker Builder DNA assessment. The examples on this page explain the idea; they are not your scored result.
